Quickfire is a platform that has been developed by Microgaming for the specific purpose of increasing the brand's presence in both Flash casinos and mobile casinos. This is a wise move on the part of Microgaming because it increases the potential reach of its games.

The software operator long had a system whereby online casino sites had to have a downloadable Microgaming platform in order to carry the games. However, that is not appealing to online casinos that want provide games from more than one software developer – those sites are known as multiplatform.

Multi-Platform Compatible

Sky Vegas reached an agreement this month (July 2025) that will see it partnering with Quickfire. At present, the main platform of Sky Vegas is provided by IGT. This enables Sky to offer games on a multi-platform basis, therefore giving players the best potential range of choice. Thanks to Quickfire, Sky can now provide its players with a range of new mobile games from Microgaming.

The format of those mobile games is HTML5, so that will allow more players than normal to access content on their mobile devices with Sky Vegas. Mobile gaming should inclusive rather than exclusive, so this is a very positive step forward for Microgaming.

What Sky Gets from the Deal

The head of casino and games for Sky Vegas, Samuel Downy, explained in a Microgaming press release that now they can offer an even better mobile experience for their players. Sky is hoping to encourage more new players by expanding its mobile reach.

Sky Vegas will now be offer mobile slots that are highly appealing within the casino industry. Now players will have access to the likes of Thunderstruck, Tomb Raider, and more great games. The deal should work out well for Sky over the coming months.

Why Quickfire?

Quickfire was first launched in 2025 and had 21 operators and 175 games by the year's end. Live dealer games were then devised in February and community games were offered soon after in August. In October, Quickfire expanded to have more than 300 games and 68 operators.

The reach of Quickfire increased further still in 2025, growing to offer more than 400 games and partnered with over 100 operators. Operators flocked to Quickfire because they could acquire new games for their existing casino software platforms. It was easy to add the new games because Microgaming's developers had focused on improving functionality.
